penneshaw, kangaroo island

KANGAROO ISLAND is the third largest island off Australia and one of Australia's hidden treasures.

It is renowned for its abundance of wildlife and its green clean environment, kilometres of unspoilt, uncrowded beaches, pure, clear waters and natural unpolluted produce.

One third of the island is National Park, a haven for the many species of flora and fauna. While on the island expect to see Koalas, Kangaroos, Tammar Wallabies, Echidnas, Platypus, Goannas, Australian Sea Lions, New Zealand Fur Seals, Pelicans, Penguins and the rare and endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo; and not forgetting over 1000 listed plants for the island.

The island is easily accessible from the mainland either via plane from Adelaide, a 30 minute flight or by ferry, from Cape Jervis, (90 minutes from Adelaide) and a 50 minute crossing. Either bring your own car, hire one when you arrive or take in a guided tour.

There is plenty to see and do on the island. Visit the unique Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks, and spectacular Kelly Hill Caves. Sample the variety of delicious island produce. Mix with the wildlife, go for a surf, have a relaxing swim, catch a fish or two, dive in the pristine waters, walk one of the many walking trails, beachcomb or simply relax.

Whatever you want, Kangaroo Island and The Hideaway can deliver year round.
